Friday Fun: Why Spelling is Important
Friday, July 18, 2008
The best part of the whole video is Pat Sajak's face at the end.

Priceless.

Stupid Things I Say #2
Friday, May 16, 2008
Yesterday, I had some keys made for husband dear's toolbox.

Lowe's Clerk: What is this key used for, ma'am?

Mama: A lock.

To be fair, it was a dumb question. I should have told him I picked my teeth with them.

Advent Calendars: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Tuesday, December 04, 2007
The Good:Comes with 24 minibooks relating a Bible story, Psalm, or song, starting with the Creation and ending with the birth of Christ.

Get it here, from these dream stealers nice people who are living the good life running a Catholic bookstore in Colorado Springs. Not that I'm jealous or anything.

The Bad:
Well, at least it could be useful.

The Ugly.

Because nothing says "Prepare your hearts for the coming of the Lord" like overly made up, scantily clad dolls with alien autopsy eyes. And what is with putting "Season's Greetings" on an Advent Calendar, for Pete's sake?

H/T Carolina Cannonball.

I actually can't show you the worst calendar I found - it's put out by Hugh Heffner's company.

Eco-FREAKS
For the smoker who cares about the environment, but not his lungs:
Yes! It's organic! But it will still kill you. You can get it in a roll your own version with all-natural flax papers (what, no hemp?)

How do you say Duh in French?
Thursday, September 13, 2007

French biophysicists have discovered that straight hair is more tangly than curly hair.

FYI, the Ecole Polytechnique is the French equivalent of MIT. According to Wikipedia, students not only attend for free but the government pays them a salary. I think I'll learn French and move before I finish my degree!

Can't wait for those stunning breakthroughs in Velcro technology. I bet my daughter still won't be able to keep her shoes on for more than five minutes at a time.

How Long Did it Take Them to Figure That Out?
Tuesday, May 01, 2007

After much study, scientists have discovered that marijuana causes trippy symptoms.

Isn't that the point?

What's next, a study showing that eating leads to weight gain, or that people who drink at bars go out more often than people who cook from scratch?
